YAG LASER (CAPSULOTOMY)

Vision may become hazy or misty some months after Extracapsular cataract surgery with / without Intraocular Lens. One of the reasons for the fall in vision is opacification of the posterior capsule.

TREATMENT

The above mentioned condition can be rectified with a YAG LASER (CAPSULOTOMY) which consists of making a hole in the posterior capsule. Yag Laser Capsulotomy is an extremely simple & safe procedure with a very low complication rate. It is much safer than any other form of surgical intervention to achieve a hole in the posterior capsule.

Rare Complications

Complications are uncommon and occasional after Yag Laser Surgery. The incidence of complications is slightly higher when Laser Capsulotomy is performed in eyes with his supported or anterior chamber Intraccular Lenses compared to Posterior chamber Lenses.
